Liz Walker
A Story To Tell
Elizaveta (Liz) Walker, PhD, MPH, grew up in Portland, Oregon after emigrating from the former Soviet union as a child. She holds a doctorate in health policy from OHSU and her master of public health from Portland State University. She is a senior policy analyst at the Oregon Health Authority and teaches courses in health care policy at the OHSU-PSU School of Public Health.
Over the past decade she has helped aging family members navigate complex health care and insurance questions. Given the unmet need in her community, she has dedicated her Russian skills and professional expertise to be a resource for her community when it comes to interfacing with medical programs in Oregon and Washington. Her personal and professional background gives her a unique skillset to explain healthcare to anyone who does not consider it their first language.
