Before 2011, Medicare’s open enrollment would start November 15th and close at the end of December. Since 2011, Medicare’s open enrollment opens on October 15th and will close after December 7th. Medicare enrollment dates were changed to allow enough time to process beneficiaries’ plan choices before taking effect, at the start of the New Year.
