We just want to emphasize that the new healthcare bill did not become a law this week. This means, that there’s no changes on anyone’s health insurance plans in 2017 whatsoever. Everything stays the same for the rest of the year.
On May 4, 2017, the House has passed the new Healthcare bill commonly known as American Health Care Act. It’s the slimmest margins of votes to pass the new healthcare bill to replace Affordable Care Act. The House came to the floor without any analysis from Congressional Budget Office how much this new healthcare bill may cost or it’s impact. The CBO’s last analysis which was done back in March, they’re projecting approximately 24 million people that would lose insurance in the next 10 years.
What happens now that the bill has passed in the House?

The new healthcare bill is still a long ways away into becoming a law. It will now move on to the Senate, where there has been considerably less movement on health care. The margin for error is slimmer than in the House: Republicans have 52 votes and can only lose two. (Vice President Mike Pence could break a tie). It’s unlikely the House bill would pass the Senate in its current form and House members voting for the bill fully expect the Senate to make significant changes.
We’ve put together this video to know some important details of what’s inside the new healthcare bill and it’s impact to you and or to anyone’s that’s currently enrolled.
