Medicare Enrollment Exceptions in Oregon
Once you turn 65, or are disabled for at least 24 months under Social Security guidelines, you have a limited Medicare enrollment period in which to apply for Medicare benefits. When will that be? The normal Medicare Annual Enrollment Period runs from October 15 to December 7 of each year. During that period, all those who are qualified can apply to add or change their Medicare Advantage Plan. Moreover, they can also change prescription drug plans and switch Medicare Supplemental plans.
How to know when your qualified to add or change Medicare plan?

There are a number of Medicare Enrollment Exceptions in Oregon.
It includes:
- you are turning 65
- moving to a different address
- you are no longer eligible for Medicaid or Oregon Health Plan
- losing your current coverage
- you left coverage from your employer or union,
- you involuntarily lost other drug coverage
- if you are eligible for both Medicare and Medicaid

You already have Medicare A and B, your choices include changing or enrolling in a new Medicare Advantage plan, go back to original Medicare and enroll in a stand-alone prescription drug plan from a Medicare Advantage plan, and select to enroll in a Medicare Supplement plan anytime throughout the year.
