Happy with your current plan? Medicare-Open-Enrollment-Oregon

There’s no need to do anything if you want to stay with your current Medicare plan. However, it is best to still compare health plans because you might find a better choice. During the Annual Open Enrollment Period you’re able to switch between Original Medicare and Medicare Advantage or pick a different Medicare Advantage plan or enroll on a Medicare Supplement or Prescription Drug plan.

New to Medicare?

If you are turning 65, you may initially enroll in Medicare during a 7-month period. This period starts 3 months before your birth month until 3 months after your birth month. Be reminded that if you don’t enroll during this time-frame, you may be charged of “late enrollment penalties”.

There are 4 Parts of Medicare:

Original Medicare vs. Medicare Advantage

Original Medicare vs Medicare Advantage - Medicare Open Enrollment

Medicare Prescription Drug Insurance (Part D)

If you stayed with Original Medicare, you will need to purchase a Part D plan to cover your prescription drug costs. Changes to your drug plan can be done within Medicare Open Enrollment Period.
